Ryan Gosling "embarrassed" by hero status

Ryan Gosling is "embarrassed" he broke up a street fight.

The Notebook actor—who was deemed a hero after the good deed in New York last month—wishes he had kept his "nose out" as his involvement in the incident, which later went viral on the Internet, just made the whole situation "weirder."

He told MTV News: "I'm embarrassed. I think that guy really was stealing that other guy's painting, so I should have just kept my nose out of it.

"So he finally steals the painting, and then he's getting his ass kicked by his hero, and then the guy from The Notebook shows up and makes it weirder.

"It's just, the whole thing, nobody wins, nobody won... I had just come from the gymnasium, and I was all stretched out and feeling warmed up. So, I'm embarrassed."

However, it is unlikely Ryan could have ticked breaking up a fight off his to-do list following the incident, as he recently admitted he stopped setting himself goals when he reached the age of 30.

He said: "Do I set goals for myself? Not really. I think now that I'm 30 I'm more comfortable. Maybe it's because I'm playing characters that are older, so it is easier to find good material. But I also have more control, I think."

Taylor Lautner dating Abduction co-star Lily Collins

Taylor Lautner and Lily Collins' relationship has been confirmed.

The Abduction co-stars—who have been romantically linked since they began filming the movie earlier this year—are the epitome of "teenage love" and, according to their fellow cast member Denzel Whitaker, their natural chemistry will come across on-screen.

Denzel told E! News: "It's kind of like that teenage love in high school. It was kind of like, 'Let's go on a date.'

"They were willing to go bowling. It wasn't all about the relationship, it was more about having fun with each other and I think any time that's the premise of your couple, it's going to go great.

"I think the chemistry is naturally going to show in the movie. It was off set so it definitely came on set."

Taylor—who has previously dated Taylor Swift and Selena Gomez—recently admitted he loved how "funny and goofy" Lily, the daughter of singer Phil Collins, was on set.

He said: "The amazing thing about Lily is that she was super-open and funny and goofy to begin with. And she definitely did not change at all from the first time I met her. That's probably the most impressive thing about her—that she's not afraid to be herself."

Beyonce Knowles is celebrating her 30th birthday with close friend Gwyneth Paltrow.

The "Single Ladies (Put A Ring On It)" hitmaker—who reached the landmark date last September 4—invited the Oscar-winning actress to the luxury yacht she is currently staying on with husband Jay Z in Venice, Italy.

Prior to welcoming Gwyneth, who is in the Italian city promoting her new movie Contagion alongside Matt Damon, on board the vessel, Beyonce—who is pregnant with her first child—was spotted soaking up the sun on the top deck of the boat.

Earlier this year, Beyonce spoke of her desire to settle down into being a wife and mother.

She said: "When you're young—18 or 19—you have the energy and drive. That's the time to work as hard as you can.

"Now I'm a woman, and because I gave it my all, I can focus on my marriage. I can decide I want to have kids. I can be the mother I want to be and dedicate myself to my children."

Ed Westwick once pretended to be in the army to pick up a girl.

The Gossip Girl star admitted he had trouble attracting the opposite sex before he became famous and had to resort to desperate measures, although they didn't always work.

He told Australia's 2Day FM radio's Kyle and Jackie O Show: "I told one girl I was in the army, I pulled the serviceman thing. Before myGossip Girl days.

"It didn't work, I got thrown back. I should have had the uniform, it would have made things very different."

Ed's Gossip Girl co-star Blake Lively is currently dating Leonardo DiCaprio, who he recently worked with on Clint Eastwood's new movie J. Edgar, and the 24-year-old star joked their relationship will only last if he doesn't "put the moves" on either of them.

Asked if the couple will last, Ed quipped: "Yeah, maybe, who knows, depends if I choose to put the moves on either one of them.

"I did just work with him recently. I had a role in Clint Eastwood's new movie J. Edgar with him.

"I play a young FBI agent so I'm really looking forward to that."
